Being a parent is a full-time job, and balancing everything—bills, work, and quality time with your kids—can feel overwhelming. What parent wouldn’t appreciate a little extra support?
That’s where Colorado Parents for Quality Education (CPQE) steps in. We want to help make things just a bit easier for families with children in the Hillside Community Center afterschool program.
Introducing the CPQE “CARE” Program
The CARE Program is designed to ease financial stress and empower you to be the best parent you can be. Every three months, we’ll select ten (10) families with children enrolled in Hillside’s afterschool programs to receive three months of free tuition.
Why is this important? Because studies show that kids who regularly participate in high-quality afterschool programs:
- Improve their standardized test scores
- Develop stronger work habits
- Experience fewer behavioral issues
These benefits are especially significant for kids who might otherwise lack supervision during the afterschool hours. A two-year study of nearly 3,000 low-income students from diverse communities across eight states found that regular participation in afterschool programs makes a real difference.

At CPQE, our mission is “to empower parents with the knowledge, resources, and community connections they need to advocate effectively for their children’s education.” We believe that when parents have the right tools and information, they can become powerful advocates for their children’s success.

We’ll provide guidance, resources, and advocacy tips to help you every step of the way. Together, we’ll work toward helping your child succeed throughout the school year and beyond.
